This Monster fan . . . what a trip! How the hell does that blade & cage come off!!!!??? Me and my brother, (a retired Nuclear Engineer) are stumped - - also, the set screw is stuck tight, the wrenches were bending (A torch & WD had no effect). The cage is a single piece - - - The cage has a break, needs a weld. Plan was to polish that wicked ass blade up.

The set screw may have been installed with "parts must be heated to remove" loc-tite, in which case that little propane torch may not work.

Cherry red will allow you to remove it (read oxy-acetylene), but work fast and quench the shaft before the motor gets too hot!

Perhaps the rotor shaft has a keyed slot? May not be able to twist off. Also just lots of patience and penetrative oil + heat. Maybe soak it in penetrative oil for a week?
