Curt Davis Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I am trying to determine the proper length / size of the brass cage struts for a 6-Blade Emerson Type 14666. I have the correct cage, but the struts that came with the cage appear to be maybe 0.25 or 0.5 inches too long so that the cage won't fit properly. Pic below shows the struts that I have which I think are too long. Does anyone have a 14666 that might be able to tell me the proper length? Quote
Mark Behrend Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I have 3 3/4” from center stud hole to back side of strut., approximately. Overall length is roughly 4 1/2”. Quote
Dan Hilton Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 It's a unique length strut on the 14666 unlike any other Emerson from the era when they had the bend in them. The motor diameter on a 14666 is unique making the bolt pattern unique as well. Mark's dimensions look correct to me. Dan H. Quote
Curt Davis Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 @Mark Behrend @Dan Hilton Thanks very much. I noticed how big the motor diameter was relative to other Emerson's, so I had an inkling this is why the struts were too long. Glad to get confirmation. Do you know if anyone can make replica struts for the 14666? Chances of finding original ones would be seem to be very very low. Quote
Dan Hilton Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I do know several folks make them but reluctant to pass out names as I do not want to sign them up for work perhaps they do not want to do. Hope you understand. They'll likely read this post and reach out to you if they are willing to help out. Dan H. Quote
