My first find and question of the year.

I picked up what I assume is a round back oscillator.  My understanding is it’s GE’s third oscillator. I was looking through the old site and found a continuous star oscillator listed as the fourth oscillator.  What the heck is the difference?  Which do I have?  Thanks for any help.

After looking a little closer, the knob on the bottom was brass that had been painted over.  It doesn’t look like my other star oscillators but it certainly isn’t round.  I’m sure someone will weigh in.

That is the flower knob that is on my 8"  form T1 oscillator.

It is a GE Knob

I believe that’s the right knob. If I recall the continuous oscillator was only a one year model. 1914?  It was just prior to the 3 Star era fans.

Its the right knob, the roundback or continuous osc has a wheel with screw holes and a screw, while the continuous star has a slot and adjustment knob like the three star, the slot is longer than the 3 star though so the arm can be placed in the exact center to stop the oscillation. (Mine is missing the knob in that shot)

Thanks everyone for the info.  Mine has the slot adjustment so I’m going with continuous star for the model. 👍  Eventually I hope to have all the GE cast iron oscillators.  A continuous oscillator is probably doable, not so much the sidewinder.
