Frank McCormack
The new issue of the Costco Connection magazine came out and has an article about collectors. I reviewed the list of names which I have attached of some collectors names and started wondering what would be someone who collects more than a couple fans might be called. I spent a little time googling around and came up empty. So I started pondering a few suggestions to throw out there in case we don't already have anything and get the conversation going. I submit for consideration: - Oscillationist - Spiniologist (prob not, taken by the media) - Amputologist or Digiamputologist - Brasshordologist - Boreasilist, Eurusilist or Zephyrusilist (after the gods of winds) - Fantophilliast

Russ Huber
Finger Chopper Lover. If I had a $10 bill for every antique fan I bought that the seller was worried about someone losing a finger with it, I could buy an 1890 Belding off of eBay.

Frank McCormack
My wife says that a real nerd doesn't know they are a nerd. I keep cogitating over that.... Anyway, sounds like we might have a bunch of inputs. Want to entertain working as a group to come up with a name for someone who collects fans? Seems like AFCA should be the group to do it. It seems to me there might be a vacuum open for us to fill. (He He, vacuums are reverse fans, grin) Straw pole, should we pursue it? Maybe a bracket approach? Other thoughts? I haven't posted to the FB group yet, should we really open this up?
Randy Pierce
Ok then, maybe just real simple.... "A Fan Hobbyist" No confusion...M/F, or young person

Randy Pierce
Actually, John, so have I. I give it absolutely no possible connection implied, intended, or imagined, nor can any twist of ANYONE'S thoughts connect me to that horrid part of world history if anyone cares.
