Jay Carter Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 That’s a nice vintage school model. Some came with various armatures to do 2 , 3, or 4 poles armatures etc. Also ways to reverse magnet positions, and even two different brush arrangements (slip ring and bipolar dc). Ebay and Amazon have many new motor build kits for 8$ -15$. But those older vintage kits are often better quality. example new kits today >> 1 Quote
Jay Carter Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 And in relation to pre-1950’s antique fans — about 1932 Knapp-Monarch of Belleville, Illinois made a Build-a-Motor kit that was 110v ac. But it was already wound , and the kid was really just assembling a fan /utility motor without the blades or gage. It did have a buffing pad and a grinding stone. (pic captured from web. I do have one in the original box , but the instructions are misplaced) Quote
