Hannah Dannehy Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 So this fan was a friendly surprise! If it looks rough, it's because it was in someone's discard heap before I took it for free. I replaced the headwire and the power cord (couldn't get the motor out intact, so I used a Western Union splice to join the new one to the last intact section of original headwire). We're still working on cleaning it- I didn't want to waste any time on that before confirming that the motor has no shorts. But I can't find any instructions online on how to oil this (or grease it). I can infer that something goes in that cup under the front bearing, but what lubricant goes in there? And how does one lubricate the back bearing? I know this is a dumb question, but I would rather ask than ruin the fan. CAT# 49x942 SPEC# 272687-1 Quote
