Hello,

like to share , show some pics of my rusty old Eck .

I now call , and rightly so , a new fan.   date  1910 ??? pls correct me if wrong

no tags on this fan, no rivet holes to be found .

work done to get   it   to run .

New struts ,hot formed using high tensile brass ,will not bend ,! will snap first .

Complete new cage , using a Marelli center piece and a badge supplied by Rick , from Louis.

Armature was sent overseas and rewound ....thank you my good friend .

A new set of coils was wound .

Finished in Ricks Japan ...and i still have a bit of a copper addiction

...copper was originally bought to use as a flash coat before Nickle ....but ..

New bushes to spin the armature on ..

.personal touch , some gold lines .

Bolts for struts attachment , bolts in neck ,all machined here , .

One of most rustiest fans ive come across, now purring happily away .

still has original ceramic switch plate , did replace the lever ..

As always Cordage samples supplied by Old School Wire ,,cheers .

I'm told the green was for my Westy vane. oops .

                think i covered it all ? .

tomorrow i expect the Ac model to turn up in post ...must have one of each eh

I sit it with some good company ...my two Edison's ..

just a few ..pics below .😁

The patented guard dates it as early as 1910, and believe it or not, its date of manufacture could be as late as 16. Aside from the Eck Dynamo factory manufactured AC oscillator introduced in 13, the DC models had virtually no changes 10-16.

Kyle ,

copper is nice change from brass or Nickle ...

Tom

Yeah Edison blows me away , so quite so smooth ,,,now realize ball bearings ? no oiler points ,,

Date , you now got me confused ...

been told ...brass badges before the fire , no tags after fire , was thousands in stock ,got lost in fire ,

i not fussed, just proud to own one ..i see if you tube link works ...yes!!

ahhh yes William ..i sure there's a post here where you posts what's on your bench ...

just wondered why here..,  is not like we ever spoken , i don't think .

Lastly Russ

"done well" , yes sir

...years ago i set a goal for myself after seeing the work of the masters ..Kim, Nick Loos , Carlton etc ...

wanted my work to be able to stand alongside theres' one day ,in quality and craftmanship.

..making of parts included!...i got there mate , from up top ,not a bad view to.....😃

mate you always been a big help to all , remarks over the years from you i have enjoyed immensely,

world is your oyster jan  ...a early one eh  .

          here's    ,a fact jack ...

Medics tell me my restoring days are just about over , i may prove em wrong ..but a battle that's a year old now ..is

fighting back, and i not the winner . .

Fans have played a big part of my life the last decade ...

best friends are fan friends ...

now down sized in a big way , many, many fans now gone around the world

and hey , so i go buy a few more ..ive always desired ,but $$ always way out of reach .

selling marellis ...has given me a way to obtain these fans .

I due for a change of scenery to....

still lots marellis  here still to go ..but the boxing up is the hard part for me ,

20 kg cf boxed ha ,i only weigh in at 45kg now days ....

Russ you posted info before ,but refresh me pls

soon landing on door step is a vertical Ribbed Holtz ......a fan that will push the Edisons' aside eh !!

any all info,i  gladly soak up...

.as i know nothing...i a "Shiltz"  for sure on this one ..no nothing, see nothing ...

A fan as valuable as this ...do you restore ? to new or clean ..or  leave patina

would myself like to see it shine as new ....as will prob do .

But interested in opinion ..from those that know

leave or restore ..

what a fan , still a few more sleepless night to go ...

a chain pull Marelli to finish before arrives ...
