Chris Argentino
A seller near me is selling 2 ge desk fans from the 20s. Do these fans tend to be workhorses like some of the Emerson 73/77s or are they not as good as far as dependability and ease of repair goes? also, what year around are these fans from and what’s a good price to pay for the pair? Steve Stephens
Good fans but the ones you really will do best with are the 1924 and earlier models that do not use much if any pot metal. Form AD and before, the ones with brass bell oscillator or even earlier 2 and 3 star models, all of which used a cast iron motor housing and not the later stamped steel housing . I had two minty GE oscillators but with pot metal bells and stamped steel motors that I sold because I like cast iron better.
