Curt Davis
Anyone have any info on this 1920s or 1930s fan? @Russ Huber
Russ Huber
Henry Tideman resigned from Tideman Electric Mfg. Co. Cairo, IL. Oct. of 1921. Tideman Electric Mfg. Co. is advertising a motor in 1923 with W. Krebs listed as the 'receiver'. In 1927 W. P. Corp. buys out the Tideman Electric Mfg. Co. Cairo, IL. and places a fan motor known as the Red Seal "Airster" it appears in 28. In 1939 what remains of the W. P. Corp. is auctioned off. When W. P. Corp stopped manufacturing Red Seal fans and motors......? What I can't get over is just how cheaply they were made. It is no wonder why they are so far and few between. Once again, Google book full reads a sparce in the time period these were made. Mike Kearns may be able to shed some light on these fans and the time span of the W. P. Corporation of Cairo. Mike Kearns has a packed historical post on Vidrio history on the old website entitled "Vidrio Products Corporation, V-P Corporation 1929 to 1956. It "appears" W-P Corporation and V-P Corporation are 2 different animals. Mike is the only one capable here if he is up to or has time for it to track W-P Corp. of Cairo through online old paper. Appreciate Mike as not only is he very detail oriented in his posts, but he also PAYS for access to old online old paper. He also has taken the time to accumulate numerous images to file. I am limited to memory and Google book/patent access which dwindles to partial read snippets for most part into the 20s.

Russ Huber
It appears after Henry Tideman resigned his chair in Cairo, ILL. in Oct. of 1921 the Tideman Electric Mfg. Co. name was maintained under a receiver until 1927. What I don't know was the Tideman Cairo plant (under receiver) still operating at the time W-P Corp. took ownership in 1927?
