James Byerly Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Purchased western electric 7901 fan several months ago changed brushes , oil wicks and oscillator grease . It runs real quiet and smooth. However the base of the fan gets very hot after several minutes of running . I assume it’s the resistor coil in the base that’s getting hot . It runs fine on fast speed . Is there an aftermarket coil that I can use to replace it, that doesn’t get so hot ? Thanks Quote
Anthony Lindsey Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 It should run cool on high, warm on medium and hot on low. That is normal. Quote
