Hoping for feedback on this fan, ie difficulty of working on, common problems (and solutions), known ohm readings, durability, rarity, and any other general advice you can throw at me.

I picked one up, and there are some issues, although I haven't opened up completely.

-nichrome wire broken, fiber switch lever broken, fiber switch plate on it's way out

-stator untested, brushes fine

-can an armature be tested??

Thanks all...

R&M made many open commutator fans over many years.  Which one do you have?   Size?  List?  Photos?

From what I read on the old forum, it's early. No tag, but imprint on the base plate. 8" blades.

Not at home, but will update with photos (and imprint info) when I can.

Thanks...

Those are nice fans.   I have two but neither runs now and they are fans I would use.  I have never worked on these models.

.   Here are some photos of anothers' brass plated and my black model.

They were marketed "Home Fans" introduced to the market 09. Classified as a "Residence" desk fan because of its size. Fan manufacturers during that circa were including 8" 9" models in their fan motor line to remain competitive, even if they couldn't make them in factory.
