Marvin Evans
Just got this 9" Menominee AC/DC fan NO. 12584. Runs great except the oscillator won't turn. I took the top off and the worm gear turns but doesn't touch the gear on the left. I think I need a new gear, so does anyone know where I can get one? Russ Huber
Mike Petree "IF" he is up for it. Mike is a great guy, and a busy guy.
Russ Huber
BTW, Marvin, measure your blade diameter again and see if you lose and inch off of 9". 🙂
Marvin Evans
Hi Russ, Thanks for the help, I always know I can count on you. You're right I went back and measured and it is an 8". Thanks again, Marvin
Jim Henderson
The large brass knob on top of the gearbox engages the oscillator. Is it fully turned clockwise?
Bill Arfmann
Those small Menominee fans are nice Marvin. Afraid I am no help-- mine is a non oscillator.

Jeff Montgomery
If you don't have any luck finding the gear, the gear box on Ideal fans looks like those on the Menominees. The fan on the right is a 9 inch. Good luck!
Michael Rathberger
Me and Rick looked at that once. I don't think the same gear. Earlier was smaller if I remember.
Russ Huber
Those gearboxes went through design, cast iron to die cast, and function changes roughly mid-teens and forward.
