David Kilnapp Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 There is a seller on eBay who is listing some rare fans. His listings indicate that he is located in VA (in one listing) and GA (in another). This appears to have all the characteristics of a fraudulent seller, yet there are bidders. I would tread very carefully.... 1 Quote
Louis Luu Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 See his other items besides fan, the seller is located elsewhere. Quote
John Landstrom Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Yea, I looked up a half dozen items (of the 14,000+) and each one had a different location listed. Either this seller has lots of stores, is fronting for individuals that aren’t registered as sellers, or the seller is a “lier lier pants on fire” scammer. Quote
Louis Luu Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I might bid on a 1 dollar item with free shipping....just to test out my curiosity. Quote
Louis Weedman Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I tried the website he had listed for "buy it now", and my anti-virus program stopped it. Quote
James Lawson Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Looks like it might be a hijacked account with pictures lifted from somewhere else. They're not coming up when I do a search, so maybe they've been pulled? Quote
Paul Carmody Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 (edited) Sometime sellers sell a lot of cheap junk then scam an expensive item.An occasional scam will keep them as a positive seller.Or they disappear afterwards as a seller. Edited May 27, 2024 by Paul Carmody Quote
Nicholas Denney Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Those tripod pictures have been reused in at least one other scam auction. Quote
