The firemen's pancake feed pancakes tasted awful!,...

...the second time across my tongue.

I saw that too. It was a disappointing show for fans, anything electrical really.

There are fans and other good antiques that pass between dealers that the pubic never sees and have a destination far away from Walnut.   This happens at every antique show and happened this weekend at Walnut.  It was a great day at Walnut.  The weather was perfect and I was able to yuk it up with a lot of dealers I know.   I bought an oval cast iron roaster and this surveying compass that dates to around 1830.

In response to John, we always go the day before (if possible) and hang out for a bit. Early admission is expensive at times. The first and last shows are usually the best times to do it for the monthly shows. Any dealer friends I've made set things aside for me.  Saying that though, we were late to one of the shows, an open affair, no admission and I found the 1899 cake. You never know...

At Walnut, dealers are forbidden to set up or sell before Friday.   I get there as early as possible (5:30) on Friday.   A Dayton 50 changed hands on Thursday that was pre arranged.   I have found a lot of fans at Walnut over the years, but not for a long time.   A 6 blade Edison was the best.  It was shown for sale on the AFCA site with no takers and wound up being a lot cheaper at Walnut.

I Bet those we’re working fans but instead they got turned into lamps. Very disappointing that those fans got turned into lamps especially the Emersons

Yeah... I threw up in my mouth a little bit myself...

I saw those sad lamp fans myself. The worst one I've ever run into was when I saw a Kidney Oscillator 😭 that had been destroyed into a lamp.

But I did barely manage to pick up a handful of fans at the show.
