Andy Cornish Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 In my first couple of years of collecting here in Hong Kong the only fans that turned up from the wild were GE loop handles, and the occasional GEC. More recently, I've been able to locate three Centurys and bought them all. First up was this 16" 261. Pot metal I know but it was cheap and I was intrigued. The motor housing turned out to be slightly warped and the motor wouldn't run as a result. I got a machinist to skim some of the front and rear covers so that it ran, but weakly and gets hot quickly so this is just a display piece. But it does have a nice local dealers tag 1 Quote
Andy Cornish Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 Then I found a 12" S3-15 that had been rusting away in a storage container for at least a decade. I've long wanted one of these and never thought I'd find one here so was delighted. It was in rough non-running shape but I managed to get new bearings made and now she runs strong. 3 speed No. 50134 1 Quote
Andy Cornish Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 A few weeks ago an earlier 5 speed version turned up. Bearings worn but runs strong with distinct speeds and the price was right. Looking forward to tidying this up in months to come. No. 32995 2 Quote
