Polar Cub Badge CAD

Very painful.....a lot of work went into this.

First....not all the badges were the same.  Due to stamping error.  Ealier ones had pristine edges!  Later ones were really bad when you zoomed in.

Second, there were different designs.  Some protruded....extended outward in some areas and some inwards....I have no rational for this.

Third, the "Mysto" had a slightly crude by different design.

My hurdle:

Getting it to be able to print with pristine edges and depth.  The originals were extremely shallow and narrow groove.

O I need to cut the back and smooth out a bit.  That will take about 3 days.  My eyes are tired from squinting at the screen!  Here is an image of what I have so far.  I took the best from all the designs and came up with this.

* The Mysto badges are a bit bigger...I will adjust later.

Both done.  The one on the left is for the Mysto and the one on the right is for the regular Polar Cub fan.  Both tabs on the back were made a bit longer to ease in installation.

Proceeded anyway....should be interesting.  I know the original ones were really thin.  If the print is horrible, I'll fix it in the next print.  Always good to do a prototype print.

I'm hoping the numbers provided indicated adjacent lines....lines next to each other. If that is the case, collapse of those lines should not matter. The original badge had a lot of lines merging together anyway. My main focus is the other parts of the drawing....I want to make sure they stand out. Give you an idea how small this thing is....about the diameter of a nickel. I had to squeeze all them details in there. If I made the lines too thick....that would have look ugly. Most of the badges I have seen have lines that were not detailed due to thin lines.

May be a graphic of map and text

Prototype badges on their way to me. Should be interesting to see how the details show up?

Never give up.  These badge will look very nice once polished.  The depth is deep enough so it will look great.  The top two are my own special creation...raised badges.
