Marc Sova
The ivory DC Emerson I have had a French Gray (and nickel) badge. Was this typical? I thought most ivory fans had an ivory cage badge? This was from a very large prominent Chicago hotel so probably part of a large custom order for dozens or hundreds of fans. Not sure that matters? I’m just curious why it wouldn’t have had an ivory badge. (Fwiw this appears to be “old ivory” as listed in their 1930 catalog as it’s a bit darker and deeper in tone and hue). Not sure that matters either but maybe. Visually I would think and ivory badge on an old ivory fan would look better than a French gray badge on an old Ivory fan. (Restored to French gray and brass because the nickel was pretty trashed). Edited July 16 by Marc Sova

I guess I’m more confused as to what Emerson did on custom orders. I know they used French gray badges on chrome fans (special orders for his hospitals and such presume?). Heck j don’t even know if they made ivory haven’t special order (and I’m talking more about the 20’s and 30’s…like 29646 and this 75946 dc etc, rather than ivory 6250 or 77 series. Oh….i just found a 77 series front section of cage with badge in a shop for $20. Listed as a basket lol).
