Bernard Dotts
I'm working on a 1908 16'' Westinghouse Tank and need some help testing the stator. I have 20 ohms on the headwire but no continuity on the two wires for the centrifugal switch. I get a reading of 2 ohms from one centrifugal switch wire to one headwire and 20 ohms to the other. When I twist the centrifugal switch wires together, the headwire still reads 20 ohms. I can't get any reading at all on the other centrifugal switch wire, so I assume that's a problem. The entire plate with the three fingers had fallen off inside after the screws backed out. I can't find any damage anywhere on the stator, but I found all three screws and a spring laying inside along with some broken pieces of insulation. If the stator is bad, is there any chance of finding one, or is this one for display only?
Lane Shirey
I might have a parts fan with a good stator if you need it.
