Stan and Russ mentioned in another thread where the blades meet the hub, images pulled from that thread, and some additional also.

Can someone please explain the evolution of this aspect of the blades, specifically cast hub, not stamped.

Did they initially begin flat, the rounded, then chamfered?

How did 4 vs 6 blade affect it?

Wondered about this for a while, and figured instead of commenting on the other thread, I'd start one just for this question.

Thanks...

This is from a 19666, rounded.

Can anyone else share pics of early emerson hubs and blade bases?

Can anyone explain the history / evolution of this aspect?

Thanks...

This  is cast hub from emerson 1166620240820_102707.thumb.jpg.c27e60a64961b5191d2cdc17c8be3a3a.jpg

Interesting the left sides are rounded corners and not crisp angles.

Thanks for posting...

The rivet holes line up on all blades from tripod and on. Exception is the 24 series when rivet close to center is pushed out around 1/8” to take the drill hole away from crevice of finger and body of hub. Next generation 27 was stamped steel and pattern resumed after  broken fingers were not longer an issue on stamped hubs.
