Jesse Sanders Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Good Morning all, I had a short chain left on this Model 44, which the last time I used to turn it on, retracted zealously and I lost my grip on it.... It is now in the motor housing and I have never cracked one of these open. Any pitfalls or tips on just accessing the switch area to extract the chain and add something to lengthen it so this does not happen again? Thanks, Jesse Quote

Never heard of a model 44, unless it shoots bullets. 🙂 Model 14? Have your camera or phone camera ready and remove the screws that mount the rear housing to the front housing. Carefully pull it off the front housing. There will be two wires connecting the motor to the switch, and directly to one power wire. To free the rear housing, you need to disconnect the two wires leading to the motor from switch wire and power wire. 3 screws seen on the housing will release the steel frame the switch and coil are mounted on to easy access to the Levolier switch itself. You can cheat and couple new bead chain (ACE hardware) to the old or do it right and put a new bead chain on of desired length. Good luck. 1 Quote
Jesse Sanders Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 Thanks Russ, it reads 44 to my eyes, but it's the 14" beaver tail blade model. I am bringing home from where I use it today and will work on ASAP. Thanks again for the advice! Quote
