Darwin Costello Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I just purchased an all brass 9” GE. The all brass fan I assume originally came with a bluing on all surfaces of the base fan? At least that’s the way I received. In turning it to an all brass state I disassembled the fan. When trying to remove the rotor I noticed that there was a formed insulation over the coils on the stator that prevented me from removing it. It was tied in place through the coils. It was very brittle and I tried to be careful not to damage it. I wasn’t that successful. I would like to replace it but have no idea what kind of material it is or what might work as a replacement material. PICS ATTACHED: It has been formed around the coils on the stator. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I could use that would provide the insulation between the t housing and stator coils. The back cover conforms to the rounding of the stator coil. Something I can mold to the shape of the coil/housing. Any help would be appreciated. Quote
