Hi! I'm a general tinkerer that offered to help my neighbor restore her non working fan. 

I've tried googling the 'List' 1602a but came up empty handed. Also tried the serial M18089 with no luck.  

It is a 3 wire headcord, with the base wires close to crumbling which is at least one reason it's not working. Haven't taken apart the top yet.  

Any advice appreciated on where to begin to get it operational, then I'll worry about making it pretty.
