I have the 12 inch fan with this particular style Ming blade but have never seen this on a 16 inch ECK Ming blade before.  All my 16 inch Ming Blade have the pizza blade style.

The following is not Gospel. I have had to study electrical trade Eck offerings closely 1917-20.  The best I can come up with and I feel strongly about this information is the 12" Ming blade Eck was introduced in 1917 and is seen again in 1918 electrical trade. There is no mention specifically of a 16" Eck ming blade being used in 17 and 18, nor are there any images to support one.  In 1919 there is now no mention of the 12" ming blade being used, but electrical trade supports the introduction of the "symmetrical wing" 16" ming blade on the DC model ONLY. In 1920 Electrical trade now supports the use of the "symmetrical wing"  ming blade on the 16" alternating and direct current models. Beyond 1920 the "ming" word disappears from electrical trade to the best of my knowledge.

I view the 17 introduction "ming" blade as a marketing attempt to boost Eck fan motor sales. I don't think things worked in their favor. They do now. By 24 Eck fan motors were history.

Keep in mind the long lived DC Sprague was off the market after 20 season.
