Jason Sliver
Hello all I just picked up a 12" Silver swan with the three speed switch for restoration and I was wondering what year and model number/letter variation it is? I am looking to get replacement decals for it and I wanted them to be correct. I also noticed it has a three wire head wire and i was wondering if anyone knew what the appropriate resistance readings should be so I can test the coil and make sure it is still good. Thanks!
Mark Olson
Hi Jason, Those are a bit intense to "just check", but here is a John McComas drawing that may help you.

Jason Sliver
Thanks for the advice guys. Would it be safe to assume that this a "5460 B" Model? I hope to tear it down further and drag out the multi meter this weekend and get a baseline on it. The motor spins very freely but it doesn't power up when I plug it in. The stator looks in excellent condition, and I'm hoping its just the capacitor (its the original one) - fingers crossed
Marc Sova
Nice. I just got a 10” a few weeks ago and I really dont know much about it, what year etc. It’s the fancy base with the nickel cage with the straight lines. Cleaned up beautiful with just blue magic and microfiber. Not perfect. Badge is pretty beat up. Head wire needs replaced ideally. But….it works and I’m just tickled lol. Jason Sliver
Thanks for the pic of solid state capacitor, I was wondering what size to buy. I have an extra 1.75 uF lying around that I was going to try, but I ll just pick up a 2.5 uF one Mine doesn't appear to have leaked, but I haven't gotten around to testing it yet. Mine also has the 2 speed coils. Ill try to post some more pics later
