Hamilton Beach home motor cage reproduction

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Friends:  you may recall that I posted a picture of my Hamilton Beach home motor. Rick Powell kindly lent me the cage that he had on his home motor so that I could have a reproduction cage manufactured. I've asked Don Coleman to reproduce the little badge for this cage. Who, in the AFCA, has the talent and ability to make this cage for me? Ideally, I'd like to have it nickel plated by a local shop near me so I imagine that the cage would have to be made from brass which I would then bring to the metal worker for nickel plating.

The cage is not very big at all; a little less than 8" across.

Please advise who might have the talent and willingness to replicate this for me. I will of course provide the original that Rick supplied. Thanks.

It took me 7 years between the time I first saw one and wanted it and the time I bought one. It showed up at fan fair in St. Louis. Cost me dear, but I got it. The gentleman I bought it showed up two years later at another fan fair. He brought me the original documentation he found with it. Gave it to me. He remembered the deal and we had a laugh. Different time I guess. Back then we collected.
