Bob Landolfi Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Does anyone know what type of motor I should use to replace the one in a modern (2016) Vornado VFan Sr Pedestal? It's 7 years old and just out of warranty, but has developed a light shaft rattle. I know it's the shaft because it's fairly pronounced and coming from within the motor housing with the blade off. It doesn't rattle all the time, but when it does it seems to be getting noisier. The rattle is accompanied by an oscillating beat frequency like the older Vornados get on low speeds sometimes. Vornado can't fix it and won't give me specs, claiming that's proprietary. I know from public information here https://www.vornado.com/shop/circulators-fans/large/vfan-sr-pedestal-vintage-air-circulator that the RPM range is 830-1425. Any ideas? Is any motor that can produce the high RPM spec and fit the housing mounts suitable, or does it specifically have to be a 3-speed motor? Quote
