Two Lundell Fans

The photo to the left is dated 28 Feb 1893; that suggests to me it is the 1892 model, and whether ’92 or new or imminent ’93 it is the earliest Lundell photo we are ever likely to see… courtesy of MiSci, The Museum of Innovation and Technology   Schenectady NY

Points for Comparison

Change in ribbed tab feet— see Periodical Image from ’92 to ’93…

Not very robust gauge wire in the cage to the left… and the wire pattern doesn’t match advertising images… fanciful artwork, or 93 guard on ’92 fan, or ’93 fan which (at least some models) still had old-style feet, or transitional?…

Switch not in the front under blade as artwork depicts…

   Struts changed…

   Ball Bearings…hmmmm…

   What else?

Your full of pleasant surprises. You are also very patient with those images. I would be chomping at the bit with posting that one.  The 93 model announced in electrical trade self oiling(oil cups) and self aligning bearings. The example on the left has ball bearings. I bet those extended base footings vanished in 03 as well. I'll be darned.

As far as the guard is concerned, 92 season may have sported the guard in the electrical trade image, and a front protruding switch.
