This is a bottom that I made for a guy and it didn’t fit because his was slightly different. So then I made him another one and he wound up selling that one with the fan on eBay, putting a very bad taste in my mouth…I thought that was rather rude… anyway, I made it out of some exotic wood that I had laying around.. so here it is free to anybody that wants to pay me for shipping. I’m thinking 8 bucks should get it done with enough money left over to buy me some tissues to blow my nose and wipe my eyes when I think about the whole making something for a friend thing that then went South..  I actually threw this one away and then I dug it back out of the trash thinking there’s probably somebody out there I would like to have it.. a lot of the all brass 8” Diehl  fans are missing  their rubber bottoms and so people use a piece of wood.. this one is extra fancy, and pretty.. it was made to perfectly fit my fan that I have a picture of here so you can see what model I’m talking about.. I would rather it go to someone who appreciates it a little better than my friend did. Yes, we are still friends .. he’s not a member of the club so he won’t be reading this sad feel sorry for me rant…fyi..you can also put some felt on the bottom and still see the fancy wood.. personal message me if anyone  is interested..  if no takers I think I will take it to the gun range and use it for target practice..

That’s definitely it.. happy to see someone enjoy it.. if I remember right, I got some dust in my eye, and had to flush it out.. that would is very weird to work with.. also very heavy and dense.. I would be curious to see if it would float in water. It seems so heavy and dense to me. Enjoy.

Here’s mine was a little brass ring that I made, interestingly, the rubber bottom says patent applied for, instead of a Diehl logo.. they are slightly different in size. That’s why I had to make two of them.  At one time I was going to go through the trouble making a mold, but it wound up to be too costly. With 3-D printing it may now be a possibility..it could be scanned and somebody could do something, but I have kind of lost interest in messing with it.

YES! -I've always called it 'Ceylon Leopardwood'-but I think that I may be wrong to do so! I haven't used in in a long time, and when I look it up now, it is said to be an Australian/South American wood. 🤣🤦🏽‍♂️ Perhaps when I bought it decades ago, it was was grown in Ceylon???
