Pedro Lima Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 This one, AEG WB23, 1908(?) seems to be extremely rare. It's a heavy and huge beast (11.2kg, 52cm high). I bought it relatively cheap at a portuguese classifieds site (90€, advertised as "old fan") but with some small issues: some rust on the blades, the beautiful dark green was painted over in light green (luckily cracking), it was mounted reversed (the switch was on the front), no stauffer oilers present. I carefully removed the new painting (the old one was almost fully present beneath), applied a thin coat of rust converter, had the oilers made to order, replaced the cables by new natching ones, mounted it correctly and, of course, reversed the motor since it was now turning backwards. I never intended a full restauration so, to me, it's perfect now. A question: does anybody has some information on this model, namely if it had variable speed (or any other)? I only found here info on the WB2, on an old post that I can no longer access. Thank you! Quote
Pedro Lima Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 Hello Louis, here it is. And the plate. Thank you. Quote

Steve Stephens Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Pedro, my AEG is one speed but i have seen a similar age all black model that had two speeds. I don't know much about AEG fans other than they are very well built and this one is unrestored. I acquired it from a collector in the AFCA who got it from France.. Quote
Steve Stephens Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Here is another AEG from my files, not mine though. I am not a fan of most foreign fans but the earlier AEG models are wonderful. The two speed model I saw on ebay was like this one but not an oscillator. Quote
Pedro Lima Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 Dear Steve, thank you for all this precious information. I have tables that refer the WB2 but not the WB23, wichs has diferent dimensions. Quote
