I bought this Patton box fan in July from Ebay, I've been wanting one of these for years. This is the very first box fan I remember seeing but even as an infant knew it was a Patton made fan. It was made in 1987 and everything on it seems to be original, the motor is a fasco and was manufactured right here in the USA, a majority of the ones I've seen of other fan collector's had the Taiwan or China made mcmillan motor. Basically all I had to do to it was give a good cleaning and service the motor. However... There were a few minor issues that had to be corrected... The sleeve on the hub was worn and made a racket and vibrated when it ran at first. But with luck being my best friend I took a clamp off an industrial plug and used it as support an it worked! These are also great preformers with the rotating grills.

I REMEMBER WHEN THE PATTON BRAND BECAME A BIG DEAL, WITH ALL METAL HIGH VELOCITY FAN IN EARLIER 70S AS A SLAP TO THE CHEAPENING OF SO MANY FANS OVER TIME . WHEN THE FIRST ROTATING GRILLE FANS CAME OUT  I THINK MAYBE BY MISTRAL? THERE CAME SOOOOO MANY IMITATORS SOME WERE TOTAL PLASTIC CRAP. PATTON WAS STILL A GOOD BRAND WHEN THEY MADE THESE ...ENJOY
