Russ Huber Posted September 3, 2023 Author Posted September 3, 2023 (edited) FWIW........GE paid licensing rights to Johann G. Peterson of Hartford, Conn. to use his concept of a heating pad switch for gaining 3 speeds in various GE models. Peterson had a number of electrical switch related patents held under his name, to Arrow, Marshall, and Mesco. The two patents (Peterson's and GE) are stamped into the switch lever. Licensing patents is the process where patent owners give a third-party permission to use their patent rights. The owner retains the title of the patent and still has ownership of the invention, but they license rights in exchange for monetary gain. Edited September 3, 2023 by Russ Huber Quote
