Steve Rockwell Posted September 4, 2023 Share Posted September 4, 2023 I've concluded that Style No. 105454 is a Westinghouse designation and not Robbins & Myers, borne out by the fact that Victor oscillator models also carry the style 105452A same as some R&Ms... When Westinghouse built for different voltage, a varying style number was designated. My (limited) experience is that a later edition of same model might carry the subscript A B C et cetera. Repeating myself already, when it's constructed for a different voltage, a different style number is used, and the 105454 tags are consistent with that notion. 105453 and 105453A are the same voltage of course, consistent with the prior statement, but 105453 and 105452 appear to be same voltage and frequency... I'm wondering whether there is an explanation? [Below: top row center and top right; same style, different voltage.] At least one 105453 has a serial number lower than the single 105452 example I've seen, so it's not a matter of sequence... Anyone know anything about this? George, would you characterize your fan as rare? as unusual? some other descriptor? Hard to judge how many of these may have survived..... George's find is no average day by any means. I am sure George was happy as a pig in mud. There are even a fair amount of DC models surfaced. How many factory intact 04 introduction DC models do we have out there? The guy that owns these fans below lives one hour away from me. He got the pop at a junk store in the 60s going to college for $3. He was riding a bicycle when he bought it. His buddy gave him the cake. As for my numerical mumbo-jumbo, it appears that 105452 is 100-110 volts, 105452A is 100-120 volts, 105453 is 100-110 volts, and 105454 is 110-120, the sole exception to this ordering being the unit I discovered three weeks ago... After a while they never had anything new so I didn't go for a couple months. When I went back the owner told me that they had an old brass fan with this lollipop shaped oscillator thing.
