Marce Clark Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Hey everyone, I hope all had a great labor weekend. I'm in need of some help. I'm working on a Silver Swan model 5250D-10 single speed and the head wires were toast so I replaced them and it worked great. Then I moved the head wire and it blew a breaker, Now there's not enough to safely put new wires on. any help is appreciated. Thanks Marce Quote
Lawrence Smith Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 You’ve got plenty, first take shrink tube & slide it as far as it goes , then solder the new connection . Secure the new connection & go! also take an ohm reading on the 2 leads to make sure the stator is still good. 1 Quote
Marce Clark Posted September 5, 2023 Author Posted September 5, 2023 hey Lawrence thanks for the quick reply. right now the stator is showing a short but i think because there's no insulation (I hope ) but I can't seen to push the shrink tube down very far. Quote
Lawrence Smith Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 That’s not good , inspect closely with a flashlight , look were the 2 leads come out & around each coil edges , you might have fried the windings before the breaker tripped . Quote
Marce Clark Posted September 9, 2023 Author Posted September 9, 2023 update on the Silver Swan. I was able to pull the wires thru and ad to them. I'm happy to report the fan is running great and to specs. 3 Quote
