12"Century Model 15 S3 (skeletal) Oscillator restored

This is a circa 1918 skeletal with BB/BC. Runs on five distinct speeds. Starts right up and runs and oscillates smoothly. I found a nice cage for it on Ebay. Antique fan parts had a good stator, Tony Clayton provided me with his excellent wire and Mark Olsen did a great job in rewinding me a speed choke. The only thing missing from the fan is the speed decal. I couldn't find anyone to make one for it. I also powder coated it a jet black and gun blued the hardware. Now I have both a stationary and oscillating skeletals.

Edwin believed in lots of parts. The more parts, the better it runs. 🙂

Nice as always, Vic.🙂

Thanks Russ, I'd really like to find an S4 to add to my collection.

Beautiful job Vic.  The red really pops and shows off the skeletal motor perfectly.  👍👍👍

That was a monumental effort to save an example of that fan. Great Job !!!

Great work Vic! Beautiful as always.

PM me your address. I’ll see if I have any labels left.

I assume the "dogbone" oscillating mechanism came first. How long was it produced?

Paul, the shims go on the side of the wing bolt. What's wrong with your S4?

Thanks for the reply Vic!

Mine runs fine. There is little separation one speed to the next .02amp if I remember correctly ,but a good deal of separation going 1 to five.I’ve heard it’s normal .? I haven’t tried dropping down to 110v yet.It just needs cleaning, head wire, oil etc.It runs quiet ,but the front  bearing has a lot of slack , blade has some ripples.

I would like to send the head to Darryl Hudson for the bearing .I just haven’t heard if he’s back to work or not.Anyone heard anything?
