Phillip L Clay
Hi, I gather Xappas and SAX are related. I found some old posts but If anyone has information on the relationship please respond. Any additional Socrates Xippas would be helpful. Thank you PC

Phillip L Clay
Ok so a Xippas fan is always a S.A.X. Vertical Fan Co., Pittsburg PA. SAFE-T-FAN is the proper name for his table top "Bank Tellers" fan Xippas is just his name and collectors reference that name.
Phillip L Clay
I think we may have missed Xippas original intent. In his 1925 patent application he says "My invention relates to electric fans, The object of the invention is to provide a device which will produce a large amount of which renders the fan absolutely safe against accidents." It is called SAFE-T-FAN. The globe does protect from injury. This sounds like a good marketing slant. Later he shifts to a vertical flow emphasis.
