Chip Micus
First off thanks for the join. First post and I am afraid it is going to be a little wordy. I have a Emerson Electric 24 in fan ( I believe is called an Elephant ear?) on a short pedestal,That came out of my family tavern back in the 60s. I believe it is in need of a capacitor and I am having trouble confirming what I need. The motor is marked: Emerson Electric K60-TB RPM: 1150/750 HP 1/6 Volts115 Amps 2 The capacitor is marked: Cornell Dubilier 106.05 330 vac NKJ I am having no luck cross ref any of this data to a replacement, also when looking at capacitors i am seeing Start, Start/Run,Run Would really appreciate some guidance. Thanks in advance Chip
Andrew Block
You just need a 5mfd 450vac capacitor. 5mfd is the amount of capacitance and 330vac is the max voltage rating. I like to increase the voltage rating as it seems to increase efficiency when the fan is running. Below is what I typically use for these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125654443356?hash=item1d4196a55c:g:IVoAAOSwkZpjkmSd&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4KClfDfXPQYFxmg43%2Bv99Ka98FfszJGCTxNRkfWfkpSZD7E74hlb5LOzKuXuqVvVdZBUekv2UXoEvJgg80Wv8%2Fg57bKbpTukcGci%2FIkEyBEHQ%2BbR02amB5WiBFF8ROq6d6uwZJp3c7y5HeN1cZMnbuwJP%2B9WRiCj7FZHqhtibPNrjNp0royUSo0qAwKKm7S24QHWQ2ECMXSiTiLTCEM0K7UClVnTLRU3iERf6%2FYJX1pxOPmYDGqzWWA1x71usbU0eF%2FnV27qBUTO%2B%2FR42kSDaM0f5SEXMqwKoto4t7nBU%2B6%2F|tkp%3ABk9SR7js7f35Yg
