But it also looks like they used a more or less "off the shelf" fan, and added onto it moreso than modifying it or designing a whole new one. And interestingly with that mechanism you would effectively pay for a certain number of blade revolutions, as opposed to time. So it would go longer on lower speeds, if it had the option of running on lower speeds. Quote
