Rick Kecky
Hello! I have a GE Vortalex 3-speed with an oil wick and reservoir. I have figured out I can order replacement wick on McMaster Carr (https://www.mcmaster.com/products/wick/firm-felt-cords/) but I'm wondering what kind of oil to fill the reservoir with. Plus any other tips for this part of my restoration? Thanks a lot for the help, Rick
Dave McManaman
For the wick, the oil cup, I use zoom spout. Or a light weight non detergent sewing machine oil. For the oscillator box, I use plain wheel bearing grease. I’ve used Lucas red n tacky too.
