William J. Tideman 1922. Keep in mind, Henry Tideman was chairman of the board for Signal when he left for Cairo, IL. in 1919. The Tattler headset was a product made under William Tideman. William was also became plant superintendent at Signal in 1922 after his return from Canton Ohio.

1922. E. Kennedy was head engineer at Signal (Top row far left). William Tideman was plant superintendent (Top row second from the left). Harold Tideman (Top row far right) was a sales Rep. in Chicago. Keep in mind Henry Tideman was an independent consulting engineer established in Chicago in 22.

Signal's first fan motor the 9" all aluminum Cool Spot did not go to market until 1923. Who.....designed it??

Late spring of 1926. William Tideman becomes Signal's plant general manager.

1927. William's wife pressured William to leave his job in Canton, Ohio to come back to Michigan so she could once again be close to her family. In 1927 she blamed herself and lived with guilt for years for William's premature death age 39 being she pressured him to come back.

In 1943, same year Tesla passed, William's widow met her fate in a very horrible way. The Tidemans had their share of bad luck.

The 1927 Signal 12" and 16" Dual Winding optional Alternating or Direct current desk fans were engineered by William Tideman. William Tideman designed and introduced the first Signal 12" and 16" desk fans.
