Short on MS-B Challenge fan

I am working on a small MS-B Challenge fan. Someone put too long of screws that hold on the cage and it pushed in the coils. This was one of the reasons it was running hot. I have used a pin to sepaDSC00308.thumb.JPG.ab65f0b61202ed43a8fedde361d01195.JPGDSC00309.thumb.JPG.86ee0bdbca6b27939c07d8824a90a4bc.JPGrate the damaged areas to try to get to the short. I also applied red coil spray. So far I have not found it. Is there any short cut to fix this or is it just keep picking the coil wires apart?

I think I have the short fixed. It now runs pulling .53 amps. It still has a bit of a noise in the bearing.

It would not run if it was not fixed. 🙂

It has two issues, one was a broken winding I repaired, the other was a direct short. Withe the direct short it would run but it would heat up fast. Now it runs, draws about half an amp and only gets warm not hot.
