Bejon A. Boranian Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Yep, branching out to making my own ceiling fans. -with- Light kit adaptability... Using inexpensive supplies, take note on this fan's "Before" PICS.. ...just wait 'till you see "After" ...Coming soon. 👍☺ Using recycled goods, I made a glass lamp cover, just needs finishing. PICS in its current "Before" phase: P.S. don't mind kitty, he's just in the zone (on my chair). ...Oddly enough, he's looking at the ceiling...like maybe it could use a fan. 🤔😎🐱 Quote
Bejon A. Boranian Posted April 8, 2022 Author Posted April 8, 2022 My other CF in the making... Much smaller! Going "Ornate" Style on this one... 🤔. Maybe an exposed flywheel? Oh, and I stained the real wood blades myself using Coffee & a microwave... Came out nice (eh, to me) & the heat treatment made the wood stain better. Then I oiled it some for a natural looking shine using some lemon furniture oil. PICS-! (...the fan is cool, my foot not so much 😵 ) Quote
Bejon A. Boranian Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 ...small update: My first attempt at a "Hugger" type ceiling fan. ...Doesn't look like much, (yet..) ..A light-kit for it is in the works, it probably will not be reversible. 🤔 (Dependent on motor type.) Quote
Tom Zapf Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 VERY INTERESTING AND A LOT OF CRAFTING GOING ON THERE ! Quote
Bejon A. Boranian Posted June 25, 2022 Author Posted June 25, 2022 ..My larger ceiling fans in the making... Primary material: cans, tuna cans etc... Drive type: pulley or friction drive (indirect drive). Considering use of salvage/junk VCR component: -improved spin down time -Factory balanced -Costs nothing -Proportional equidistant screw terminals for mounting blades -Pre-built bearing assembly, quiet operation Quote

Bejon A. Boranian Posted September 14, 2022 Author Posted September 14, 2022 ...AFTER: Beautiful floral light shade-! Looks like glass, but it's not. Should be able to take a hit, unlike glass. PICS: Quote
