W. S. Hill Crescent Moon Vane

There has always been a piece of the puzzle I could not figure out.  Once you draw it up...problem solved.  My question was...how does the motor counterweight so it does not lean forward.  Upon close inspection of the drawing....the back is actually heavier than the front without the blade.  Note the distance difference.  It is actually much longer on the back end to counter the blade which is in the front.

The rotor is held by the top bracket which is then dropped onto the motor housing.  The rotor would lock into the shaft by a screw after the rotor shaft is inserted into the bracket.

Fixed the bottom portion for the table (changed thickness from 3mm to 6mm).  Also, shrunk everything down.  Tip of radius to back end of motor is 9 inches.  This is more manageable.  Blade diameter will be around 8 inches.  Also fixed the logo.  Logo is now proportionally pleasing.

I've settled on a 7.5 inch blade.  The length from the tip of the crescent to the back end of the motor will be 9 inch.  The smaller blade size is easier to display and run.  The 10 inch was just too cumbersome and definitely not a toy motor.

With the table, this will be a more manageable size.  The full 10 inch blade version would have been too cumbersome.

New dimensions for the toy motor without the table and vane assembly (Basically a Porter No. 1):

3.15 inch height x 2.165 inch width x 3.386 inch length.
