Gerry Meeks Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 I am still thinking about using fiber washers on the rotar shaft front and back. Is it primarily used for spacing purposes? Is it also used to restrict the movement of oil from reaching the stator? I don't see anything else would restrict the movement of oil. I know it wouldn't be much oil, but I think about the stator being so dirty when I took the fan apart. Please tell me specifically where to use the washers. Thanks I didn't take the bottom off of the fan this weekend, but will do it tomorrow. I will photograph and post what I find. I am documenting this restoration, and will keep in a binder and on the computer. Once I do another similar fan and know what I am doing, I will post it for others to use. Thanks for your input. Please continue. Quote
Stan Adams Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Gerry, I recommend that for now you concentrate on getting the fan running. Fiber washers & speed regulators can wait until you see that it will actually run. Quote
Gerry Meeks Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 Understood Stan, one step at a time. Quote
