The information is stamped on the ring of the guard. Good eye, Steveo. My bet is George never checked the top of his motor housing to see if he had holes drilled for his missing motor tag. My bet is there are no holes. Why? Because George's Menominee predates Jim's by a tad. One hunert thou... George's example is the 3rd example down with motor tag. If Georges example has no motor tag mounting holes it is in relation as to how Menominee marketed his fan in numbers wholesale to a retailer. The sequence is earliest top to bottom. The top 2 are of the same variant, different angles. Patrick Ray
What year(s) was the vertical switch offered? I've got a tab foot (not vertical switch) blown apart and curious on age.

Menominee announced Farr as an agency in 1912 electrical trade. 2
David Kilnapp
I love these little Menominees. You can put them just about anywhere without overwhelming the room decor (says my wife). I have three including a staghorn oscillator. I'd like to add to this collection of Menominees but they are getting very pricey of late.

Think positive, now you don't need a tag. 🙂 It actually could have been manufactured the same year as Jim's example, just month(s) earlier. Michael Rathberger
On every one of this eras fans and motors I've found, Menominee always used green wire on one coil and red on the other, they must have done it for manufacturing ease coming down the assembly line, no confusion on what coil wire goes where. I see the person who restored the Farr caught the detail...

It even had its original brass lacquer and enamel. I got a call from Ron asking me what is the best I could do for him for price? I told Ron, for you, $650.00. He said he would take it. I got my check from Ron in short time and packed and shipped him his Westy vane. 2 weeks down the road he had it on ebay all Jeterized and polished and flipped it for $1,100-$1,200. Smart businessman. Russ Huber
Looks like factory finish. They should have stuck with those grease screw downs. Just a short periodic CW twist on each end lubes the shaft up for another couple of weeks.

Bill Dunlap
Jim, I forgot to mention that the grease cups are already filled with Super Lube synthetic grease. Also, don't touch the brush caps while running (zzzzzappp!) DAMHIK Cheers, Bill 2
