Hello Roger,

Question- is the back case orientation correct?

I do believe the rear motor case orientation to be correct.  This was something that I considered when getting ready to reassemble the motor.  The orientation is driven / supported by the following:  The motor mounting bracket on this model is bolted directly to tapped holes in the stator, thus positively identifying the orientation of the stator ==> The original stator leads for the start and run windings were of a length that would only allow direct exit through the wire-routing plate just inside the switch housing bump out ==>  Orientaion defined.  Beyond that (it would seem) if the switch and line cord bump-out were oriented to either side, an interference between the (natural hanging) of the switch pull-chain and the line cord would result.

It may be that other variations exist that would indicate alternate orientation, but this is what I came up with.

It's been a while since mine was open, but one of these days I'll take a peek again.

Appreciate the thoughtful description.

All the best, take care...

EARLY Edgar T. Ward Deluxe model. They made them with optional 22" or 28" blades. The one I restored was a 22" model. I think it safe to state it is one of one being 22". I believe there is a 28" model like it out there. The unique GE motor was 2 speeds through the windings. It was optional 1750 RPM or 1150 RPM.

I no longer have it. It is in the hands of another member.

Steve, going left to right, pick which one you want? I am not sure if you can message me or not being you're a guest? If not, have Patrick Ray message me your address.
