The start winding appears to be fairly heavy duty (more windings, more copper) compared to the centrifugal start models like the 1500.  Thus the start winding of the bed post fan motor can handle being nonstop energized without going up in smoke? My theory.  🙂

The 8" fan referenced...these may also fit the bed-post mount...
